Who Has The Biggest Bust In Bollywood

Zehnte Folge: »Die Biene Maja und ihre Abenteuer«

Bestseller gibt es immer wieder und wer sich intensiver mit ihnen beschäftigt, wird schnell do something about the conditions that can occur under what circumstances such books. With many successful sellers play a special role the background of how and why they just at a particular time could be valuable, interesting and have been moving for the buyer.

For this series, dealing with the history of the working children and youth book, I would like to respond to a particular example, which was at the beginning of the last century, became a bestseller and today would still be known by everyone "The Adventures of Maya the Bee" was published 1912th Until 1922, the author sold Waldemar Bonsall über eine halbe Millionen Exemplare seines Romans und gehörte damit zu den meistgelesenen deutschen Schriftstellern dieser Zeit.

Wer das Original heute liest, wird vielleicht erstaunt sein, mainly because my generation Maya the Bee is only by the Austrian-Japanese animation known, plays down the primary matter greatly.

Super Birkis For Chefs

Ich lese derzeit »keine Bücher«

For nearly three weeks, I'm here, a small, complete with never-ending reading marathon. Interest only, that under all the stuff is actually not a real book. But a tie.

About two times a year it is hectic for me. It begins the time when I get a review package to read in a few days and then has to negotiate. My first package arrived on Saturday (22), my second day with laggards (26) and Sunday (30th) I have to hand over the reviews, to be displayed then a few weeks later in printed form as books-media-magazine with an initial circulation of 600,000 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Eight days, 1568 pages.

every time I look forward to the challenge, even if it is incredibly stressful and exhausting, as I have, at least for future books in hand, books that are published and which I can count as a reader. In my package this time three proofs of the three were? (For which I have a big weakness!), The Top Secret edition with the consequences "Brainwash - prisoners thought " , » House of Horror - The House of Fear " and » High Strung - Under high voltage " contains (Franckh-Kosmos Verlag). There was a bound galley proofs from the publisher is entitled Treehouse » Letterland " Johanna Trommer and Meryem Natalie Akdenizli. wonderful - a gebundene Druckfahne! Pustekuchen  - was there really a blue-red striped tie in how the heroine of the novel, it also contributes. This one expensive-looking press kit, a note pad in A4 format and a funny stand the main character, which is attached to the carton. In the network there is already a separate page and a book trailer.

Why have I stressed at the outset that I am looking forward to future books and can also leave? Because I've already started two weeks earlier, I read through a mountain of manuscripts that are published may (and in some cases, hopefully never) as a book. The Crime? No. A biographical Report? Nope. A volume of poetry? Hmm, no. A short story collection? Rather reluctantly. There were pages with illogical plot, unsympathetic protagonists who responded incomprehensible error of perspective were not too short, just as bad style, superficial characters with no development, dialogue impossible, racist and sexist innuendo. So I'm just very happy how my reading marathon developed from work in progress Un-books to proofs and review copies of future books and true. So, now, but read.

What did JK Rowling, Hermann Hesse, Patrick Suskind and Bram Stoker in common? You're a writer from different genres and different times and have a different reception and publication history. In addition, I measured up to me to have all the books of these authors and read several times to have individual titles. Why readers do that? To read books more than once? What is their motivation?

In my search for answers I asked for some readers, researched the internet and discussed with vocabulary. From all the conversations contain suggestions and experience reports, I was able to filter out different motivations, which I share in strong and weak subjects. In both types of motivation arises out of the book, so I reversed necessarily subjects had to encounter that are dominated by the reading habits of people.

The strong motives to read a book several times, is the genus her partner . There are books that allow different interpretations in different stages of life and readings. Often it takes several years before the reader turns back to them and while reading new, involve him personally important lessons. Some of her partner will only be understood if the reader has a particular phase in his life has experienced. This motif fits my Hermann Hesse. Luckily, I discovered it very early for me and my favorite book "Narcissus and Goldmund" have I now read five or six times. Every time I have new issues, interpretations, peculiarities noticed that I could apply to my life - depending on where I was straight.

A very strong motive, the reader finds in books nostalgia. There are books, most of which were read during childhood. Karl May? Astrid Lindgren-title? Enid Blyton? The definition could even be extended to complete themes and genres. These generally include boarding novels, Youth Crime and horse books. These childhood books, the reader has loved before, and gain the feeling back, he reads it again. There is great danger that after reading disappointed and realize that his memories have reflected only a glorified image. The nostalgia-books can be related not only to childhood, but also to a certain section of the positive in life. I've been very lucky, because "my childhood love, Bram Stoker's" Dracula, has not disappointed me. I have read the book three times now and would not mind a fourth time Just like I still like my Ronja.

The third theme arises when the reader encounters a style icon . The book has a unique style, the writer is a gifted storyteller and knows how to disappear to use his trade. The reader devours every sentence, is enjoying every metaphor and freaks out every elegant set point, which extends the set and increases the enjoyment. If then also agrees with the content, the reader is inevitably fall into the style icon. It is important for them to read these books often, because they can not so much established at once, as the book has to offer stylistically. Often form more style icons fan, thereby raising the competence and understanding and more and more new discoveries are made. For them, reading a style icon is always a form of training. My motivation to read Patrick Suskind's, in a similar direction. Similar? If I so darüber nachdenke, wäre das eigentlich wieder eine Untertreibung.

They are submissive, eager to read - really dependent. Is it a disease? A virus that mutated and spread rapidly? Sort of. The readers are addicted to the familiar worlds, the beloved characters and experience, especially the reading felt feelings again. Above all, these emotions are the ones to which the reader yearns. Many fantasy novels are potential deal because they satisfy many cravings. If it also combines with love, they devour the vulnerable reader final. Example? Stephenie Meyer!

on the bright side, however My Darlings . The motivation for them arises quite naturally. It is the absolute, perfect, unattainable favorite books that match 120 percent to the reader. At least. Darlings are the missing puzzle piece, the piece of sugar in coffee, the morning sun wakes up to the chocolate and the rubber frog in the wafer. They enrich the life of the reader and, like an old love affair, is to fall back again and again. I have a suspicion. One of my books (I squint just on the cover) has the potential to do, my Darling to be. My little Sunshine. Every time I think it's a flea market chest, my heart beats faster. Since one and a half years, I sense a deep longing to read it. But wait! - So far I have it is only read once and therefore do not know if my suspicions are confirmed. Therefore, I still keep silence about my secret lover.

are the last strong motif marked by doubt, love and hatred: it is the incomprehensible . In the breast of the reader to stay two souls that are in perpetual conflict with this one book. He has read it, was not understood, but fascinating. Even the incomprehensible have lured him. He reads the book again, it does not understand, desperate, read it again. He drummed literary theories, methods of interpretation, the biography of the author and the reception history of the incomprehensible learn by heart. Again and again, thinking of Readers that he has learned something crashes to full of hope in reading and fails again. This reader is driven by a relentless ambition, and often feel a strong love-hate relationship with books. Thomas Mann in my research, I have often read in conjunction with the incomprehensible. Martin Mosebach in my opinion could be a suitable candidate. At least I still read and fight.

There are poor subjects, all of which are enforced in any way. This must include the compulsory reading that are for the class work, written examination, seminar work reread muss. Zum letzten schwachen Motiv ordne I to film books. When the movie hit theaters, some readers may be seduced into having to necessarily read the book (again).

What motivations emerge from the reader? I arrange to peculiarities of certain attitudes and habits and assume that they liked the book more or less. The endless reader wants a book read more and more time to revive the story again and again. It is susceptible to dealers, but also for Darlings. fast readers however want the criterion of time. They can afford without problems querzulesen one of them liked book quickly and without ceremony.

Oft entsteht a motivation only in the combination with the right reader and the right attitude, the right time, the right place, the right environment and of course the right book. Especially the example of Harry Potter can be said that on the books - depending on the reader - several motivations apply.

Now I'm curious as to what a reader, you, dear reader. Do you read books more than once and, if so, why? Are there books that have such an effect on you that one of the types can be assigned? Do you have additions? New experience and observation?

Best Tv Mount For Benno

Der Trotzkopf von Else Ury gehörte dazu: 1916 veröffentliche Marie von Felseneck the continued "Despite the head experiences" in the world wars, of which 225,000 copies have been sold. As the teenager literature has now been collected and used as the theme for the war? The heroines were just a very special role during the jingoism attributed. In the war euphoria, they called on to participate actively in the handling and destruction of war. The girls encouraged their husbands to move to the front to help the people in the war. There were women's two roles: either as a proud wife of a soldier or a nurse, because in the hospital she could take care of the bereaved, crippled war hero. This typing should be a whole generation of these role models heranführen.

"Back home in great time. Story for the youth of the Great War "by Emily Albert argued that the mothers of dead soldiers should be proud of the performance of their sons, because they found the honorable hero. The book was published in the Jewish publishing Levy & Müller, who published a lot of propaganda literature during World War II. For infants, there was a war-friendly crafts offer: In the "war Colorful Images sheet she could cut out guns, planes, uniforms, and zeppelins.

Ernst Georgy shone during the First World War with its speed: the author followed the war closely and wrote novels that detailed the tactics und den Kriegsverlauf nacherzählten, wie beispielsweise »Mit Held Mackensen durch Galizien«.

Nein, damals lasen die Eltern ihren Kindern "For our war child. Verses of our time "before. A taste? An illustration shows a small child kneeling in prayer at night before bed. "Help us Germans, God / Give us bread and milk. / But the enemy in the trenches should / have any of this. / Mach win, that our troops / so that we get back from school. "
Is it worse? Yes, with a picture book "Hurrah! A picture book of war "(1915) by Herbert Rikli. An illustration shows a small, fat child with red cheeks in a Zeppelin, the teddy bear sits next to it and a large German flag blowing in the wind. From there, it throws bombs on the enemy and laughs happily. For

Collectors there was an interesting offer: The Photo Album "Young Germany," the Cologne publishing Stollwerck. The collective images were put into the album and showed images of life in war, boy scouts, education, and more.

began after the First World War, the Weimar Republic. A bestseller from this time, Maya the Bee, is treated in the next episode.

Releases 2011 - Children's Literature

This was the last straw. Definitely. A list of new publications in the field of children and young people. At the weekend I was at an editorial meeting at the spring program for children and youth book publishers was rolled hard. The mountain was huge with previews, but the result disappointing. The football is still in the room wide, like werewolves, elves and vampires in particular! Political, critical, important youth books were rare. Gratifying, however, is the development of the picture books, for here is the artistic quality has improved. In particular, the small publishers have risen significantly high.

Help A Baby Clear Its Lungs

books or on the web: Google eBooks - A tour of the new distribution platform

As it lies before me - the new distribution platform for e-books from Google. The launch on 6 December 2010 has caused a media frenzy, but in the many articles I've found no practical test. My News search yielded nothing new. How many people have probably already clicked in Germany through the books-Cloud? Whether they apparently have a bookshelf - or even already have set up a library?

The left panel features clearly visible my bookshelf. Currently, eight e-books have found a place to test it. On the main page, there are again advertising - initially for free e-books and the promise » More best of the free " , a priority for a bestseller in the New York Times (this shelf is empty on the German platform and not visible ) and finally popular genres (fantasy, thriller, romance will be listed) - these links lead to German readers have to empty shelves. We must content ourselves first with the free, free e-books.

on each side, in every category and in general throughout the search box is placed centrally above the right. » Search eBookstore " challenges us on the platform. The search can now be restricted to twenty different genres that are very wide - including in fiction, cooking / food and wine, humor, education and family, protocol, or reference works.

rattle one off the top list of the New York Times, is still looking in vain for Stieg Larsson, Dean Koontz and John Grisham.

Die Sortier- und Filterfunktion ist derzeit enttäuschend, what may lie on the German portal. In » price " can choose between » Any " and » Only free " (verständlich!), the sort function is limited only to » relevance " (soft criterion) and » Released " . If the search is very general, it really is flooded with a mass of titles, which is not controllable. Can therefore look to a echten Qual werden.

» use now " however, invites the book immediately into your own virtual bookshelf ( "My eBooks " ). From here you can » read the book" or » Continue shopping " .

exciting it is when the book is now called on the device. There is a bar with different options that you can adapt the book to its needs.

knobs behind the first hides the » content " in which all the chapters are listed with page numbers. From here you can directly go to the right page. The second button can change the settings of the digitized book. Here the reader can change (if any) between the original scanned pages, and the body text and display zoom in or out. In other e-books it is also the possibility to change the font in the text and adjust the line height and the orientation of the text.

The third button » Search " searches the document for the desired keywords. Even if the pages are scanned there, does the search, which can be sorted by pages or relevance. The fourth knobs lists all available information on the book title with a cover sheet, ratings, number of reviews, app-linking, related titles - but also shops that sell the book. Listed are at "Hamlet " the shops Alibris, QOOP and surprisingly also Amazon. The last button, a question mark, refers to Google Books Help, How to use the web-reader and the option to report offensive content.

My bookshelf has been filled with nine free e-books. I am still not clear which are arranged according to a system for the books. In any case, I can change the order, let alone sort. If you switch between reading several e-books, called the new tracks always load the last viewed page.

I am curious what will develop the platform. In particular, the browsing is currently by the lack of filtering and sorting is simply impossible. On the one hand, the German platform is naturally still in its infancy, the other, it is tremendously exciting to browse through the scanned original volumes. Since many titles are from university libraries, and we discovered from the notes on the page. The most significant innovation in my opinion not only the relative independence from the terminal and to clarify the question of format, but also the proper pagination, which remains despite increased or reduced the same text. Is thus opening itself to science an enormous Wealth of public works that are quotable. It remains unclear to me is still the DRM issue that will play particularly with current titles a significant role.

How To Counter Silent Treatment

books or on the web: Google eBooks - Current situation, for the advantages and disadvantages, performance users, publishers and bookstores

Since 2004, Google recorded more than 15 million books electronically. There is a selection of 35,000 publishers and 40 libraries in over 100 countries and 400 languages. Since 6 December 2010 on the net wide, making the new distribution platform from Google: Google eBooks, users can buy digital books and download them to their virtual bookshelf. Here, the new cloud technology is applied. put in this blog post I represent the current situation for Germany, count the advantages and disadvantages compared with other suppliers and count on the most important developments for the user, booksellers and publishers. Morning followed by a small virtual tour of the inner workings of the platform.

runs Since December, the sale in the U.S.. The German-language store is indeed available, but the purchase has not been possible. German customers, three million older titles available, which are predominantly in English. So far, two million tracks for free. Depending on the contract, the publishers have negotiated with Google, the online digital books are completely or only partially legible. The only requirement is a free Google Account. Until now floating around the cloud only normal e-books - the enhanced e-books are not there. Users can reach the page at the URL www.Books.google.com / ebooks .

The Cloud technology enables an entirely new approach to digitized books. There's no file to be downloaded, which has a specific format, which in turn will only fit specific devices. Keeping it in the data cloud and the user merely loads a backup down to his own machine. The books can be online with the help of browsers pose - this is the representation on the computer The laptop, available on smartphones or a tablet PC, as long as they have a browser. For Google's Android smartphone operating system and Apple's Apps iOS there is to read the books without problems. Especially for the mobile Internet generation is likely the way in the cloud are interesting. In addition, there are two innovations: E-books a night and a day reading mode should have. At night, readers can switch to a black background with white letters to not only protect the battery, but the eyes. More important than this gimmick are the page numbers that are maintained differently than other vendors. Thus, students and scholars use e-books, to websites insert into their work.

Google eBooks will play as a distribution platform for the stationary book trade a role, since the books can be integrated via a Google-shop into your own site. Through an affiliate program earn as a bookseller in trading with digital goods.

For publishers, the new distribution platform has several advantages. Very clear - the cloud technology eliminates the hardware problem. Access to the Internet, a matching device and a Google account today to cope with simple criteria. Google also creates an additional sales channel and increases the circulation and thus the acceptance of e-books. While there are many e-book platforms in German-speaking, but the reach of Google is many times higher.

Compared to Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble in the U.S., Google has some major advantages: The e-books are not tied to a device and a bookseller. The platform is based on open formats such as PDF and EPUB. This Kindle owners, the Mobipocket format can rely on are to do with the e-books anything. For the Sony eReader Google Apps is designed to open the files in the program can and Digital Editions to read. The apps are also available for other devices such as smartphones, tablet PCs and e-readers.

The coming months and years will show perhaps a tendency to respond to these questions. So far, the comparison is between Google and the publishers and authors to the question of print titles. A next step could be a dedicated e-book reader, because Google has taken over in mid-January, the company eBook Technologies. In any event, initial response and Amazon released a Kindle app, so that their e-books are readable in the browser. That was certainly not the last battle between the rivals Google and Amazon on the e-book market.
