review - Anne Plichota / Celine Wolf, "Oksa Pollock - The Unexpected"

Today is the 3rd March 2011 - the date on which Oksa Pollock comes officially to Germany. With great fanfare and much fanfare announces the Oetinger publishing the book "Oksa Pollock - at the Unexpected." If the whole mania right?

have to review purposes, I read the book a month ago and wrote my views in a book-media magazine for children. It was therefore in a blue package Oksa therefore red-blue-striped tie, press kit and a notepad. Interestingly, what has mobilized forces of the Oetinger publishing in advance for the book. The publisher has sent out review copies, 5000 - as a bound paperback books, even though the book itself appears as a hardcover.

The content is quickly described: the girl Oksa Pollock has a hard time. She just came with her family, moved consisting of father, mother and grandmother, from Paris to London, when suddenly strange things happen.

Of course, it goes into a (regular) school and experienced teachers, of course, good and nasty. And there is a real and a magical world that come together in this first volume of the series is limited. The magic that carries Oksa, is quite different from that in the Potter books and is based not only on special forces, but also the effect of various substances in Granuk-spitting. Oksa that a special part of the ultimate heroine does, is in fantasy books is nothing new. There are many new magical creatures and even more new ideas. A second French Potter? Not at all.

I was so with the book meine Probleme. Thus I came pretty quickly to the profile. Stylistically, I found the first fifty or below average, which bellowed and capitalized words are unbearable. Is that perhaps only in the translation? I do not know.
the other hand, the authors develop a strong, likeable, cheeky protagonist, which is accepting its responsibility and fight for their values and ideals: for their family, their friends and their new world. For a children's book that is a good thing.

The authors Anne Celine Plichota and Wolf have Oksa the first self-published published, but soon angered the fans demanded that they stay with a real publisher and her magical adventure became a bestseller. At the same time to the novel now appears the audio book. If the book in Germany triggered a hype, like many years ago, Rowling's books? I think not, because it is missing the point of all-age character
